Dots Environmental Policy

General
Precidia Technologies is committed to environmentally sound business practices, meeting and exceeding applicable regional regulatory standards. These practices include:

  • Maximizing reuse of materials where possible by recycling
  • Meeting and exceeding emissions requirements of applicable governing bodies
  • Seeking out environmentally conscious suppliers
  • Setting corporate environmental management objectives, with regular review

Regulatory Compliance

RoHS & WEEE

The European Union has adopted Directive 2002/95/EC on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. This new directive, also referred to as RoHS, requires that manufacturers reduce the usage of six hazardous substances to minimum acceptable levels by July 2006. These substances are:

  • Lead (Pb)
  • Hexavalent chromium (Cr +6)
  • Mercury (Hg)
  • Polybrominated biphenyl (PBB)
  • Cadmium (Cd)
  • Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE)

Directive 2002/96/EC or WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), which came into effect in August 2005, encourages and sets specific criteria for the collection, handling and recycling of electric and electronic waste.

In addition to measures already in place to protect the environment, Precidia will implement changes designed to meet the requirements of the RoHS and WEEE Directives

Precidia’s RoHS Compliance Plan
Precidia is working to ensure all product models are available in an RoHS compliant version. An RoHS compliant iPocket232 can now be purchased by specifiying the ‘EUR’ version. To determine the availability of other products in an RoHS compliant model, contact sales@precidia.com or your sales representative. Precidia is committed to fully implementing this directive.

WEEE Compliance Plan
In accordance with European Standard EN 50419, Precidia's new products that are subject to the WEEE directive are marked with the "crossed-out wheeled bin" symbol.

Dots Cardholder Data Integrity Policy

Within the existing framework of cardholder data security standards, there is not, at this time, any formal compliance program for router based products such as the POSLynx220. However, recognizing the importance of cardholder data integrity, Precidia has voluntarily ensured that the POSLynx220 with NetVu, when properly configured, meets all applicable PCI requirements (available upon request), and will continue to meet and exceed relevant industry payment security standards into the future. While Precidia’s compliance does not remove the merchant’s responsibility to ensure all PCI requirements are met, these steps have been taken to assist merchants in achieving full compliance.
