POSLynx220 with TransNet software integrates POS terminals with existing ECRs, delivering EMV® chip-ready solution.
Ottawa, Canada, June 8, 2011 – Precidia Technologies Inc., a global leader in the design and manufacture of Internet Protocol (IP) payment and networking products, together with Global Payments Canada GP, announced today a strategic alliance to offer Canadian merchants a semi-integrated payment solution for electronic cash registers (ECRs). This solution integrates VeriFone Vx570 and Vx810 EMV chip-enabled terminals with existing cash registers, processing Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI PA-DSS)-validated credit and debit card transactions without replacing existing systems.
Canadian merchants require a payment solution that delivers the benefits of a fully integrated Point of Sale (POS) system, but until now, the cost of such a solution has been prohibitive for many of these businesses. Integrated payments eliminate manual entry of payment information, helping to reduce errors, improve checkout efficiency and simplify reconciliation. The solution leverages the ECR a merchant is already using, from manufacturers including Sharp, Samsung and Toshiba TEC. Integrating a Vx570 or Vx810 POS terminal from VeriFone with the merchant’s ECR, the joint solution acts like a fully integrated POS system. Features include EMV chip capability, contactless processing, PCI PA-DSS compliance, SSL encryption and automatic dial back-up for enhanced reliability.
For resellers in Canada, this new, quick-to-market solution will have merchants up and running with minimal effort. “The Global Payments Canada and Precidia Technologies semi-integrated solution for ECRs has been designed for simple deployment, management and support,” said Jamal Awad, Vice President Strategic and Third Party Solutions, Global Payments Canada GP. “Global Payments offers 24/7 support in English and French, to complement the suite of tools included with this solution, such as detailed terminal reporting.”
Fabricland, Canada’s largest fashion fabric distributor with over 130 stores nationwide, has deployed this solution with Toshiba TEC MA-1595 cash registers. “This solution has afforded us the convenience, security and reliability of an integrated solution, at a fraction of the cost of a new integrated POS system,” commented Irene Stepkowski, Controller, Fabricland.
Precidia Technologies President Deepak Wanner points to the value of this joint solution in the present, as well as the future. “The POSLynx220 offers a suite of management and monitoring tools that help merchants with many common tasks. These tools include transaction alerts and network management; the ability to close batches and finalize settlement; and the ability to view transactions by lane, server or card type.”
