Precidia Technologies Powers Payments on Cisco Application eXtension Platform

Router-based virtual terminal leads industry in high security and manageability.

Las Vegas, NV, April 15, 2008 - Precidia Technologies Inc., a global leader in IP-based payment software solutions, announced today its TransNetTM Payment Engine software is now available on the Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) Application eXtension Platform (AXP) for the Cisco Integrated Services Router (ISR). Precidia also announced that it joined the Cisco Technology Developer Program supporting the Cisco AXP. Now, merchants can take advantage of a unique, Cisco ISR-based virtual terminal that manages PCI requirements while delivering fast, cost effective transaction processing on an existing PC, cash register, payment terminal, or PDA. The solution is ideal for restaurants, small business, mobile workers and general retail.

Launched at the Electronic Transaction Association's (ETA) Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, the Precidia solution on the Cisco AXP is ideally suited for the retail industry. Precidia's TransNet Payment Engine software is now available on the Cisco AXP, a card that can be used in many existing Cisco ISRs. By using the Cisco AXP, merchants achieve several unique benefits: First, housing the payment function in a highly secure router rather than the payment device delivers the industry's most comprehensive protection against attack. In addition, choosing this router-based solution simplifies PCI compliance for merchants, with automatic updates and alerts. Second, the solution's integrated management server, NetVuTM, offers unprecedented control of the device and its transactions, including capabilities such as monitoring, remote deployment and 24/7 access to data. Finally, by connecting directly to the processor's host, merchants can reduce transaction costs and negotiate rates separately for each card type with direct connections to many payment, gift card and check processors.

"Cisco's teaming with Precidia Technologies enables an innovative solution to persistent cost and compliance problems in point of sale management for retail", said Dave Frampton, Vice President in Cisco's Access Routing Technology Group. "Integrating Precidia's TransNet and NetVu solutions into Cisco Integrated Services Routers (ISR) reduces operational and transaction costs, optimizes for high security, and simplifies deployments. The Cisco AXP hosting services on the ISR provide a unique capability for Precidia to differentiate in both resiliency and network integration."

Precidia president Deepak Wanner believes that Cisco is well positioned to lead in the retail payments market and is coupling Precidia's payment engine and management server with the industry-leading Cisco AXP. "By running our software on Cisco routers, we can revolutionize the retail payments industry", said Mr. Wanner "We are giving the merchant a way to make their own Cisco Integrated Services Router a payment switch, and simplifying the solution by building in interfaces to many of the existing POS systems. This router-based offering will replace traditional payment terminals with a more robust, highly secure, manageable and flexible alternative”.

Precidia and Cisco are demonstrating the solution in booth #714 at the ETA show in Las Vegas from April 15-17. For more information, or to arrange an appointment, visit www.precidia.com/payments
