Ottawa, Canada, March 15, 05 - Precidia Technologies, a leading provider of Internet Protocol (IP) access devices, today announced the Class B certification of its POSLynx400 retail router for the First Data Merchant Services (FDMS) CARDnet/North and Telecheck hosts. The POSLynx seamlessly connects dial-based terminals to the Internet over DSL or other broadband networks for faster, more cost-effective payment transaction processing.
This is a significant milestone for the POSLynx, a series of devices that provide IP conversion via four dial or two dial/two serial ports for legacy point-of-sale (POS) equipment. Explained Deepak Wanner, president of Precidia, "With the POSLynx400 certification, our partners have a simple IP connectivity option for the vast customer base of merchants using FDMS CARDnet/North and Telecheck hosts, enabling them to eliminate dial line costs and process transactions faster."
Precidia partner IP Merchant Solutions (IPMS) confirmed the importance of this development to their business. "Our customer locations linked to the FDMS and Telecheck hosts by the POSLynx are saving over $160.00 per month through reduced dial line costs and realizing transaction speeds that are 10 seconds faster than using dial up. They are gaining all the benefits of IP without changing their existing POS terminals or applications," stated Chris Etter, president of IPMS. "Now that we can offer it to this significant market, we expect customer deployments of the POSLynx to increase exponentially."
