Jordan Oil Speeds Transactions with Precidia

Speed, manageability and security drive convenience store's deployment of POSLynx220

Ottawa, Canada January 10, 2007 - Precidia Technologies Inc., a global leader in the design and manufacture of Internet Protocol (IP) access devices, announced today that its POSLynx220 product has been deployed by Jordan Oil in its Hot Spots convenience stores throughout the southeastern United States. The POSLynx220 payment router, which features 2 dial and 2 serial ports, has helped Jordan Oil connect existing payment terminals, check readers and ATMs to an IP network. Benefits of this solution include faster transactions, simplified remote management of store equipment, and enhanced security.

Using existing equipment, Jordan Oil gains all the benefits of a costly new IP-based system. Among these benefits are transaction speed and manageability. Jordan Oil IT Specialist Rollin Tillie says "Efficient customer service is our most important objective. The faster the line moves, the more people you can serve. Our transactions have been reduced from more than 15 seconds to under 5. With stores serving an average of 1500 customers a day, this results in a significant time savings at the checkout. What's more, we've gained management tools with NetVu™ that we could not get anywhere else: active management and alerts, remote configuration and proven security."

Precidia president Deepak Wanner points out that the dramatic reduction in transaction authorization time is just one of several benefits merchants can achieve with the POSLynx220. "There is the cost savings of eliminating dedicated dial lines, as well as the foregone cost of upgrading to new equipment. The POSLynx220 also addresses a growing concern amongst merchants: security and PCI compliance management. Precidia's approach to security is the most comprehensive in the industry, featuring SSL encryption, field-tested firewalling, and password management', said Mr. Wanner.

Jordan Oil has a history of innovation in the industry, having been the first to introduce self serve gasoline to much of the southeastern United States. Today's announcement is yet another milestone in the company's drive to serve convenience store customers better and faster.
