Ottawa, Canada October 24, 2006 - Precidia Technologies Inc., a global leader in the design and manufacture of Internet Protocol (IP) access devices, announced today that it has teamed with Moneris Solutions to offer an easily deployed, immediate solution to Canadian merchants affected by the discontinuation of the Datapac 3201 leased line transaction processing infrastructure. The solution connects existing 3201based debit and credit payment terminals to broadband IP networks for faster transactions and an over 60% reduction in monthly telecommunications costs.
Moneris Solutions has partnered with Precidia Technologies to provide a solution that bridges the gap as Canadian merchants migrate away from 3201 leased lines to IP enabled telecom solutions. This solution, which is powered by Precidia's POSLynx220 multiport payment router, is critical, as major Canadian Telecoms move towards the discontinuation of their X.25 products. Enhancing the performance of existing 3201 equipment, the solution is easily implemented using widely available DSL and Cable networks. Acknowledging the importance of maintaining the integrity of financial data, Moneris and Precidia deliver peace of mind using the latest SSL encryption standards.
Already implemented in retail locations throughout western Canada, Moneris and Precidia teamed to provide this solution after the telecom vendor discontinued its 3201 leased line service. Precidia provides the POSLynx220 solution, and ensures that it is configured appropriately for the retailer's environment. "We have been pleased with Precidia's responsiveness and the product's performance. The solution is working very well and our customer is currently implementing it in additional locations," said George Smith, Moneris' client integration manager.
Recognizing the urgency of finding an interim Datapac replacement strategy, Precidia president Deepak Wanner says "We've ensured that this solution can be deployed easily in minutes, virtually plug and play for the merchant. With automatic dial back up and remote configuration, merchants will not only reduce their costs and speed transactions, but can rest assured that the solution will be reliable and easy to implement", said Mr. Wanner.
The POSLynx220 delivers a post-Datapac interim solution that can be temporary or permanent. While it can be implemented quickly and easily, it is designed to provide all the features and benefits of a fully IP enabled solution, including such value added tools as dial back up and real-time alerts.
