Precidia and PAX Team for Advanced Payment Solution

TransNet™ payment engine the first application integrated into PAX S80 and S90 payment terminals, for secure, highly managed transaction processing.

Las Vegas, NV, April 22, 2009 - Precidia Technologies Inc., a global leader in the design and manufacture of Internet Protocol (IP) payment and networking products, and PAX, the leading provider of innovative electronic payment terminal products, announced today at the Electronic Transaction Association (ETA) Annual Meeting the launch of new PAX payment terminals with TransNet™ payment engine capability. By integrating TransNet directly into the PAX S80 and S90 terminal products, merchants receive a complete POS offering that is more advanced than other terminals available in the industry, including remote deployment and terminal management, PCI compliance assistance and pre-certification to transaction processors.

The TransNet/S80 and S90 solution sets the standard for IP terminals in North America. A full featured terminal processing multiple transaction types - credit, debit, gift and loyalty, the PAX terminal with TransNet takes transaction management and security to a new level, simplifying common management and maintenance tasks, while delivering comprehensive cardholder data security. The solution's management suite facilitates remote deployment, with the device 'calling home' for its configuration upon power-up. This remote management capability can be used to update software or configurations easily and quickly to multiple terminals at the click of a mouse. In addition to dramatically reducing the cost and resources required to perform these administrative tasks, the PAX terminal with TransNet also delivers near real-time reporting, including transactions by card type and network status. These reports and associated alerts provide merchants and their ISO/Help Desk with valuable data on a 24/7 basis to detect and address problems quickly, minimizing downtime.

The TransNet/PAX solution also benefits from a comprehensive approach to cardholder data security, including PA-DSS, EMV and PCI DSS compliance. To assist merchants, the solution features PCI Compliant default settings that cannot be changed by the user, facilitating ongoing compliance. To offer the merchant peace of mind, the PAX terminal is automatically updated when standards change, ensuring the terminal is always compliant.

"Processors and MSPs who are looking for a competitive edge in the market are excited about the level of sophistication the TransNet/PAX terminal can offer", said Ken Paull, President of PAX's U.S. subsidiary. "With cardholder data security such a significant issue, our customers can leverage this unprecedented level of control in regards to the initial deployment and ongoing operation of the terminal. Having the true ability to direct the flow of transactions down to card type or ensuring that the terminal can be locked down to prevent such changes are just some of the features that differentiate this solution from the legacy landscape", said Mr. Paull.

Precidia President Deepak Wanner says the PAX terminal's combination of sophisticated design and extremely competitive price point makes it an ideal platform for TransNet: "This solution has been designed to give merchants and their support providers unprecedented control of the device and transactions for better support and maintenance. Rather than a host of unnecessary features, this solution delivers the tools that merchants need the most, all in a cost-effective and easily deployed package", said Mr. Wanner.

PAX and Precidia are demonstrating the TransNet solution at the ETA Annual Meeting in Booth #234.
