Ottawa, Canada, May 17, 05 - Precidia Technologies, a leading provider of Internet Protocol (IP) access devices, today announced the launch of the POSLynx220, a multiport Point-of-Sale (POS) IP adapter that offers Convenience Store/Petroleum and restaurant operators faster, cheaper payment processing over the public Internet using their existing POS equipment.
The latest addition in the POSLynx Series of retail routers, the POSLynx220 builds on Series hallmarks of simple, secure IP connectivity and dial backup reliability, with support for serial equipment and a new Management Server feature. Using the POSLynx220, merchants can eliminate dedicated dial lines and increase transaction speeds. The IP adapter provides two dial and two serial interfaces that can connect dial terminals and ATMs of any make as well as serial equipment including Verifone Ruby, electronic cash registers and check readers to affordable public broadband Internet networks using SSL encryption to ensure security.
IP connectivity has never been easier with the POSLynx220. There are no additional hardware or software requirements. Furthermore, the Management Server feature enables remote download capabilities such as automatic POSLynx220 configurations and updates. Robust management capabilities provide end-to-end transaction tracking. Retailers save money and time with streamlined installations, offsite diagnostics, and significantly reduced onsite maintenance.
"The flexible design of the POSLyxn220 enables merchants to consolidate a range of POS equipment onto the same broadband connection. At the same time, the IP adapter delivers advanced management functionality that simplifies installation and operation as much as possible," explains Deepak Wanner, president of Precidia. "The POSLynx220 gives petroleum retailers and quick service restaurateurs an excellent opportunity to save money and improve customer service."
