Las Vegas, NV, July 14, 2008 - Precidia Technologies Inc., a global leader in the design and manufacture of Internet Protocol (IP) payment and networking software and devices, announced today certification of its TransNet payment engine application by Sharp Electronics Corporation (SEC). By coupling TransNet with Sharp cash registers, Precidia is offering a unique payment processing alternative to merchants. Merchants with Sharp cash registers can now take advantage of fully integrated payments, with fast, secure, IP based payment processing direct to a wide range of certified payment processors.
Among the world's largest manufacturers of electronic cash registers (ECRs), Sharp offers an extensive range for small business and commercial customers. These highly reliable cash registers gain value-added functionality when coupled with TransNet. Housed on a secure payment router, this unique payment engine application handles the processing of credit, debit, gift and loyalty from card swipe through to processor authorization. Certified by major transaction processors, TransNet's multiport router platform delivers additional benefits, such as automatic dial back-up for enhanced reliability, and the integration of multiple peripherals at the countertop. Merchants using TransNet can also take advantage of features designed to reduce costs and facilitate cardholder data security standards compliance.
Many Independent Sales Organizations (ISOs) believe that this solution presents a unique new integrated payment processing option, and are offering promotions to incent Dealers. "We're excited about Precidia's solution for Sharp registers. This gives dealers a whole new set of options for delivering quality credit and debit card processing solutions that include great Gift and Loyalty programs that will make their customers extremely happy", said Merchant Warehouse VP Todd Giblette, who has introduced a revenue-sharing model for Dealers using TransNet on a Sharp terminal.
"Merchants and Sharp Dealers are looking for flexible, reliable and secure broadband payment options", said Greg Tucker, Product Planning Manager, POS Sales, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America, a subsidiary of Sharp Electronics Corporation. "Precidia delivers a new option to merchants, helping them gain the benefits of broadband IP transaction processing while ensuring compliance with cardholder data security standards ".
Precidia President Deepak Wanner explains how TransNet facilitates cardholder data security for merchants: "TransNet and its secure router are validated by Visa as meeting its Payments Application Best Practices (PABP). In addition, the solution helps merchants achieve and maintain compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) via default settings and automatic updates", said Mr. Wanner. "There is no better route to IP based processing for Sharp merchants, based on cost, security and flexibility".
