- Connecting a legacy serial-based Mitel PBX to a LAN/WAN

For example, hoteliers can improve customer billing by using the iPocket232 to connect their Mitel SX-200 ICP PBX to their Property Management System, which may require a serial interface.
For simple deployment and enhanced management of Mitel PBX, Precidia also offers NetVu, management server. This tool suite is designed to streamline deployment & support with alerts, remote application download & monitoring.

How it Works
|
| The Precidia device has an Ethernet port and one or more RS232 ports, allowing it to deliver three distinct solutions for PBX users. |
Connecting serial equipment to a Mitel IP PBX By connecting the iPocket232 or Ether232Duo to one of the PBX's Ethernet interfaces, the RS232 ports on the Precidia device become available for a PMS or other activities that require a serial interface. |
|
IP Network Connectivity Users of serial-based Mitel PBX systems can connect the iPocket232 or Ether232Duo to one of the PBX's serial ports, leaving the device's Ethernet port available to connect to the LAN/WAN. The user can now remotely update, troubleshoot and monitor the PBX from a local PC on the LAN/WAN in real-time. |
|
Secure Access to an IP PBX The S-Lynx220 allows a cell phone or dial modem to communicate with an IP PBX over an external network, for administrative or other tasks. It is ideal for allowing access to the PBX outside of a LAN, without any access to the rest of the network. The S-Lynx220 acts as a gateway for access to only one IP PBX via digital wireless or other network type. |
