Integrate Payments with PC Systems using TransNet

Though payments are typically the domain of retailers, a growing range of businesses are beginning to accept credit and debit card payments for goods and services. These include professional offices, such as doctors, dentists, government services and veterinarians. These low volume 'merchants' wish to offer the convenience of card payments, and usually have a PC at one or more workstations. In order to accept card payments, a stand-alone payment terminal is used alongside the PC. This set-up has several limitations. First, the cost of payment terminals often prohibits the business from placing one at each workstation, making it more difficult for staff to access. Second, the existing broadband network may not be fully maximized, with the business paying for an extra dial line to process transactions.
