Challenge
|
| Medical institutions face important operational challenges, including the need to maintain accurate and timely diagnostic and patient data, while remaining cost effective. As hospitals move away from paper-based systems to computerized data exchange, it has become difficult to share information efficiently amongst the many healthcare professionals involved. |
Solution
|
| At the point of care, the proven iPocket232 connects medical devices such as patient monitors, blood analysers and ultrasound units to an IP network. The iPocket232 seamlessly connects any device via its RS232 interface to an existing institutional LAN/WAN via Ethernet. |
| By connecting this equipment to the LAN/WAN, patient data can be viewed from a network connected PC, allowing busy medical personnel to access patient information from another internal location. Remote networking of medical devices can also improve hospital and clinic inventory control, as well as other back-office administration. |
